Pinto Ferreira, Lisbon

In this 1940s apartment, my responsibility was to redesign and oversee the complete renovation.
Our primary objective was to enhance the layout, addressing challenges like a windowless room and another room with limited space (around 5 sqm). By reconfiguring the layout, we transformed the windowless room into an open kitchen, dining, and living space—the heart of the home. Additionally, the former living room now serves as an extra bedroom, boosting the rental unit’s guest capacity.
We converted the small 5 sqm room into an additional bathroom, resulting in a T3 home with 2 bathrooms.
Despite tight budget constraints, we prioritized durability, ease of maintenance and comfort.
The design exudes a fresh aesthetic while subtly reflecting Portuguese influences, welcoming travellers from around the globe.
